A Board Game Group in Maidstone, Kent.
Welcome to Medway Area Boardgamers!
Games being played: Fallout, Harmonies, Wyrmspan, Endeavor: Deep Sea
We are your local North Kent based group of friendly Board Gamers who meet up every Wednesday to play and discuss board games.
Our events run from 18:30 to 23:00 with latecomers always welcome! - Although we recommend arriving before 19:00 with regulars typically turning up from 18:00.
We work on an ‘everyone gets to play a game’ set up, so even if we’ve just finished explaining the rules to a game, we will take out a new one to fit you in! Our members bring their own board games so even if you are brand new there is always something to play and someone who will be free to include you.
Whether you are looking for a quick game or two to keep your brain active or a long form game that will take the entire evening, we accommodate all things here.
Hope to see you soon!
How to Find us
We get together at the Style and Winch in Maidstone, who kindly allow us to make use of their private function room.
The pub is close to Maidstone East and Maidstone Barracks railway stations and the main bus station.
There is a car park a 2-minute walk away, on Wheeler Street, which presently costs £2.00 for the evening (after 06:30PM).
Alternative parking at the Maidstone prison is a 5-minute walk away is free between 18:30 and 08:00.
Directions
We’re out the back!
Enter the pub through the central door (the right-hand door is sometimes locked)
Look for the doorway at the rear of the main bar under the "Toilets" sign and head that way.
Turn left and head straight until you reach the decking.
Turn right and take the door to your immediate left.
If you see the Tardis, you've gone too far!
Club Rules
This is a pub, so please be aware that under 18s cannot attend unless with an adult!
Otherwise, we only have two rules:
£2 cash per person to cover the cost of room hire – if you don’t carry cash there are several cash points in town and the pub are more than happy to exchange notes for coins
No drinks on a table with boardgames – simply to avoid unexpected spills, they do happen from time to time, but we would prefer they are on the floor not our boardgames
Key
If you’re new to boardgames feel free to check out our Glossary for key terms that often get used in the board community or Useful Links for getting in touch with the boardgame scene in Kent.
Meetings will take you directly to our Facebook group where we organise our events and some games are organised in advanced. If you are new you can apply to be part of the group, so you are up to date with everything going on with our weekly events.
Of course, we also have our Blog, where you can find reviews for the games that we have played each week and further news about any events we have upcoming outside of our weekly meet ups.
